Job Description:

Agrai-Dairy Mart, Ltd. is a fast-growing milking and dairy barn equipment dealer with three locations covering all of Alberta. We specialize in full sales, installation and servicing of the following product lines: DeLaval, Nuhn, InBarn, JOZ, and Sun-North Systems. 

We are currently looking to hire a permanent, full-time Service Technician/ Robot, Parlour and Back of Barn Installation to work out of our shop located in Lacombe, AB. This is a unique career opportunity for the right individual.

The successful candidate will be a mechanically inclined individual who has an interest in robotics, is technically minded, shows initiative, and has a desire to exceed expectations. Millwrights or mechanic apprentices fit well in this position.

This position is hands-on, and you will be working on developing custom solutions for the installation and servicing of robotic milking and feeding solutions for our clients. Training specialized on the equipment will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities Install:

• Installing, repair, and maintaining robotic & parlour equipment.

• Troubleshoot installation and mechanical issues.

• Follow detailed diagrams/drawings of wiring schematics and install all components accordingly.

Responsibilities Service:

• Servicing VMS robots which require experience in electrical and electronics.

• Troubleshoot equipment issues.

• Solve problems and repair equipment under tight timelines.

• Maintain a professional relationship with our customers in person and via calls.

Expectations:

• Must be available for rotational on-call availability.

• Available to work out of town (very rarely!) and occasional evening/weekend.

• Complete daily work orders with a high level of accuracy.

• Diagnose and correct challenges independently.

• Experience with milking equipment would be a strong asset.

• Willing to learn and adapt to technology advancements.

• Able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Must have your own tools.

Skills:

• Mechanical skills are a must: millwrighting, welding, plumbing, electrician (…)

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

• Computer skills.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) within the team as well as to the customer.

• Strong organizing and planning skills. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Highly motivated, self–starter able to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment and take ownership of assigned work.
